Toyota F1 Team Sells Parts Online

Forget about a boring baseball cap, a tacky polo shirt or a chintzy key ring. There are better ways to show your affection for Toyota’s Formula One team.
For example, consider the purchase of a rear wing from one of Toyota F1’s racecars. Or perhaps a genuine front-nose piece. Both are available at Toyota F1’s online shop, which has begun selling used parts from actual grand prix cars.
The wing costs about $3,560 (plus shipping), the nose is a relative bargain at $2,280. Toyota will ship to almost any country around the world, including the United States. For those shoppers looking to economize, there’s a used brake disc for $285. Makes a nice paperweight.
All the parts have been used on the team’s Formula One cars, either for racing or testing — some of the cars were in service as recently as 2007 — and each piece arrives with a certificate of authenticity.
“Given the number of obsolete parts, which accumulate over the years, we wanted to give F1 fans the chance to buy a unique souvenir,” a Toyota F1
But if you’re looking to cobble together your own racecar from the Toyota F1 parts, you’re out of luck. The parts are sold with the condition that they cannot be used for any road or race applications. via
