Sebastian Vettel dominates British Grand Prix

Sebastian Vettel scored his second win of the season and the third of his career with a crushing display for Red Bull Racing at the British Grand Prix. With World Championship leader Jenson Button finishing only sixth, the German ensured that the battle for the title might not be as clear cut as it appeared to be.
Vettel took pole–but in contrast to Istanbul two weeks ago–he didn’t blow it on the first lap. He pulled away from Rubens Barrichello at an astonishing second per lap and in effect sealed the win even before the first round of pit stops.
For once Rubens got the better of teammate Button, but he had no answer to Vettel’s pace. For the first stint he managed to stay ahead of Mark Webber in the other Red Bull. The Aussie should have qualified second but his chances were spoiled by Kimi Raikkonen getting in the way, and by the time he got ahead of Barrichello at the first stops, he had no chance of reeling in his teammate. However, he matched Vettel’s pace for the rest of the race and finished just 15 seconds behind. This was Vettel’s first dry weather success.
Barrichello dropped away in third place and by the flag almost fell into the clutches of Felipe Massa, who
The final points went to Jarno Trulli and Raikkonen. Timo Glock was ninth, while Giancarlo Fisichella had a great race for Force India and finished 10th on merit, having beaten BMW, Renault and McLaren. Lewis Hamilton finished a lowly 16th after struggling for grip all afternoon and losing a bit of time with a spin.
The only incident of note was a collision between Sebastian Bourdais and Heikki Kovalainen that eliminated both drivers.
