2011 Fisker Karma Sunset

What is it? Fisker showed a convertible version of the Karma sedan at the Detroit show, with a power retractable hardtop that stows in the trunk. Riding on a modified sedan platform, the Karma S is ten inches shorter in overall length. The Karma S uses the same plug-in hybrid powertrain found in the sedan, combining the a same 2.4-liter, turbocharged GM Ecotec four-cylinder engine from the Chevrolet Cobalt SS, a lithium-ion battery pack, and twin electric motors. Fisker claims a 50-mile range for the Karma S using only electric power and up to 403 horsepower total. What’s new or notable? If the Karma S sees production, it could well be the first high-performance, plug-in hybrid luxury convertible in the world.
